I was his radio man in Viet Nam. He was well liked.

I met Bob when I moved to Cheney in 1954. He introduced me to the Boy Scouts. I helped him with his paper route and we hunted and fished together. Bob was a born leader. He was Quarterback  of his high school football team and someone you could count on to take charge in any situation.
 During our first year of college Bob rented a room in my parent’s house. I last saw  Bob after we both returned from Vietnam . Bob loved his country and was proud of his service. I had always hoped to visit him in Cusick to renew our friendship. I was proud and pleased to hear about the wonderful life he made for himself and his family in Cusick.

I came to know Bob when he became Mayor of Cusick.  He was a partner, collaborator,  and community advocate.  Bob always had a solution to offer and an easy way of pitching in and getting things done.  I enjoyed my short number of years knowing him. I learned much from him and feel privileged to know him,  work with him,  and call him friend.
