

Robert “Bob” Walsh, age 90, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2011. He fell asleep with Jesus surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Eleanor (Contabile) Walsh. Bob always called her his “angel.” He is also survived by three sisters: Evelyn Redmond, BillieJean Mahoney, and Mary Scherkenbach. Bob had four children Bobby Walsh, Dave Walsh, Tim Walsh, and Dori Walsh. He also had six grandchildren and seven great-grand children. He served in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War as a mechanic on an aircraft carrier. Afterwards, Bob spent many years living in San Diego, CA working for the Civil Service as a quality control inspector. In 1970, he moved his family to Spokane, WA where he started a swimming pool business. He lived his whole life as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the Lord Jesus very much and had a strong conviction to his Seventh Day Adventist faith. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Burial services will be held with full military honors at the Washington State Veteran’s Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11:15 am. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 4:00 pm at Spokane Valley Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1601 S. Sullivan Road, Spokane Valley, with a potluck dinner to follow. All who knew Bob are welcome to attend and join in the celebration on his life.
