OBITUARY

Rose Isabel Smith

15 August, 19275 January, 2021

Rose Smith was born in Walla Walla, in 1927. She died peacefully on January 5th 2021, at Holy Family Hospital at the age of 93. She was preceded in death by, Gail Smith, her husband of 65 years. She met Gail on a blind date in 1948 and they were married 6 months later. Together they had 5 children, 14 grandchildren, 23 grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Gramma Rose was a devoted wife to her husband, Gail. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and greatly loved all of her family. She hosted family dinners every Sunday for years and you could be sure were on her list if you didn’t show up! Her passion was playing bingo. It was quite an adjustment for her when she could no longer drive to catch a bus to Worley. Her other loves for many years were sewing, cooking, crocheting, and her love for animals. We will miss her very much as she was a matriarch of the family. It is comforting to know that she is with her beloved husband, family and friends now. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Dearest Cousins,

Your mother will always be remembered for her kindness and loyalty to family. She was such a special and loving friend to both my mother and father and to us as well. Her memory lives on in a legacy of love.

May that love surround you now and bring you peace.

Sandy and Dick Brulotte and Steve and Bonnie Allessio...we love you all!

I always remember as a kid when we would come to visit your house I was so overwhelmed by all of you and all the commotion of 5 kids--me being the quiet only child!! Your mom took it all in stride and welcomed us with a smile on her face and wonderful food on the table! She was a gem!
