

Verla "Maxine" Rhoads, age 83, passed away June 8, 2011, in Spokane, WA. Maxine was born in Oshkosh, Nebraska on April 2, 1928. She was the daughter of Robert and Jennie (Albee) Correll. At the age of 9, her family moved to Ellensburg, WA. She married and moved to Spokane in 1949. Her family was the focus of her life along with being a member of Zion Christian Center and President of Women's Aglow for many years.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 38 years, Hiram Rhoads, of Spokane Valley; three children, Ken Hicks (Karen) of Spokane Valley, Debra Endsley (David) of Medical Lake, and Shari McIntyre (John) of Colbert; brother, Robert Correll (Glinda) of Eugene, OR; and sister, Janet Brander (Bill) of Twin Falls, ID. There are also numerous stepchildren; grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Merrill Hicks, three sisters and one son, Richard Hicks.
Maxine loved life, loved people, and loved the Lord. She will be missed by all. Funeral services for Maxine Rhoads will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011, at 1:00 pm, in the Alwin Chapel at HAZEN AND JAEGER FUNERAL HOME 1306 N. Monroe, Spokane. Graveside services will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace Cemetery. Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
