Bill Boyle passed away peacefully at Sacred Heart Medical Center on May 3, 2017. Bill was born September 9, 1944 in Seattle, Washington to Larry Boyle and Mabel Miller. He is survived by Sandy, his wife of 46 years; by his children Nikki Lane (Doug); Jeff Boyle (Amy); William Boyle Jr. (Susan); and JoAnne Todd; and by his six grandchildren Grayce Lane; Zachary Boyle; Alaina, ShaeLynn, Joshua Boyle; and Brooke Todd. Bill is also survived by his two sisters Becky Twohy and Bonnie Ferrell and their families.
A long-time resident of Spokane, he graduated from West Valley High School in 1962. He then went on to play football at the University of Washington before transferring to Eastern Washington University where he played baseball and graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in business and economics. He received his MBA from Washington State University in 1971. Bill worked for Keytronic as a buyer and as Vice President of Materials and plant manager. He opened Spokane Olympic Sports in 1987 through which he had a positive influence on the youth of our community. Bill also worked closely with Spokane Valley Baseball Association. He also did contract work with Belles Consulting and with Chelan PUD as well as purchasing for the Dept. of Corrections. Bill enjoyed coaching soccer and baseball, was an avid hunter, and loved to fish especially with his granddaughter Grayce. Bill challenged himself physically, going to the gym daily, completing many Bloomsdays and triathlons. He loved biking with his friends, completing the Seattle to Portland ride and the Tour of the Swan River Valley bike ride in Montana. Bill loved family vacations abroad and at the lake, big Christmases, gardening, cooking, photography and most of all spending time with his family.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 13, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA, with a reception to follow.
