

Chloe Janice Brovan was born on May 10, 1945, in Starkweather, ND to parents Albert and Chloe (Nielsen) Foster. She was baptized, confirmed, and taught Sunday School at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Starkweather. She graduated from Starkweather High School in 1963, and continued her education by graduating from the Aaker’s Business College in Fargo, ND. She then worked in Minneapolis for at time before moving to Duluth and then to the Trego/Spooner area where she worked at the Indianhead Eye Clinic in Spooner for many years. Jan retired from the Eye Clinic in 2007, but continued working there when needed. She enjoyed walking, gardening, flowers, and handiwork such as knitting, sewing, and embroidery. Jan will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, sense of humor, and for always having a smile and encouragement. Jan was a courageous fighter of cancer, of which she was a survivor of.
Jan is survived by her significant other and best friend of the past 12 years, Bill Strohmeyer of Trego, son David of Minneapolis, MN, daughter Jennifer England, brother Howard Foster of Pine City, MN, sister Pat (Russell) Wass- Odegard of Minot, ND, and her family Roxanne (Michael) Vendsel of Minot, ND, Craig (Lori) Wass of Phoenix, AZ, and Tony (Dawn) Hagman of Yuma, AZ, and other close family members including Kris Fetkenheuer, Kim Gogan, and Mark Strohmeyer and their families.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents, and 2nd husband Jerry Brovan.
