

Carole Jean Shewfelt, age 72, of Spring Hill, Florida, died on Friday, April 7, 2017, at Bayfront Healthcare – Spring Hill. Carole was born on April 10, 1944, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Salvatore and Ann (Coltellino) Pisciotto. Carole and her husband, Roger, have been local residents of Spring Hill (Pasco County) since 1983, coming from Midland, MI. Carole worked for several Pre-Schools companies as a teacher and cared mainly for infants to 2 year olds. Carole had many interests to include: singing soprano in the Choir at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, cooking and baking cakes, designing floral arrangements, band mother at Springstead High School. Carole was a devoted, selfless and doting mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Carole designed and created dresses, floral arrangements, and much of the decor for her daughter Debbie's wedding. Carole was very active with all her children’s school activities, field trips, sports events, chaperoning, and was a “Room Mom”. Carole was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Susan Alberto in 1995, as well as her aunt and uncle, Mary and Anthony DiBenidetto. Carole is survived by her loving husband, Roger E. Shewfelt, of Spring Hill, FL they were married on July 12, 1969. Carole is also survived by her sons; Michael (Windi) Shewfelt of Bellevue, NE, and Chris (Christine) Shewfelt of Erie, PA daughters; Debbie (Robert) Halcrow of Oak Ridge, TN, and Elizabeth (Christopher) Shewfelt Rodi of Charleston, SC. 12 grandchildren; Zachary, Gabriel, Nicholas, Noah, Nathaniel, Calista, Piper, Paige, Phinley, Timothy, Dominic, and Giovanni, and 2 great grandchildren; Aubree, and Easton, and by sisters; Sally Ann Pick of PA, Mary Ann Russel of NY and Helene Pisciotto of PA. Carole’s family and friends will gather at Turner Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. The visitation will be Monday, April 10, 2017, from 2-4 & 6-8 pm, with a Wake Service at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 11am, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Committal service will follow at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens in Spring Hill. Burial will follow all services.
