Edwin Alexander

He served with the U. S. Marines during the Korean War and achieved the rank of Sergeant. After his service with the Marines, he attended Tampa Business College. He retired from the Seaboard Coastline Railroad in 1991. After retirement he moved to Clinton, Arkansas where he lived for 32 years with his wife Jacqueline.

He was a devout Christian and was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School teacher, song leader, and Deacon. He was a member and loyal supporter of The American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener. He planted a garden every year and sold some of his produce in the community. He was recognized in the local paper for growing a 43 pound 8 oz watermelon. He especially loved his grandchildren and always looked forward to their visits.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Earl, Elbert, John Arthur, and sisters Edith, Eunice, and Edna, and his former wife Barbara Jean, mother of his six children.

He is survived by his wife Jacqueline, son Dwayne (Gail), and daughters Sarah Hunt (Patrick ), Janie Daniels (Bradley), Barbara Cianciosi (Nick), Lorraine Smith (Gene), Loretta Miller; stepsons David Smith (Lisa) and Sammy; 8 grandchildren, Carrie, Autumn, Caroline, Robert, Ashley, Carlos, April, Stasia; 4 step grandchildren David II, Terra, Nick, Nathan; 13 great grandchildren, Ciara, Braydon, Robert, Lilah, Landyn, Darcy, Kai, Peyton, Lukas, Serenity, Abagail, Thales, Adam; 7 step grandchildren Kari, Aleigh, Ava, Saylor, Kenzie, Alleya, Nick, Jr; 1 great great grandchild, Xander and 1 great, great, step grandchild Jack.

A visitation for Edwin will be held Friday, October 28, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Turner Funeral Homes, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. A funeral service will occur Friday, October 28, 2022 at 12:00 PM, 14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609. A committal service will occur Friday, October 28, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
