

DILLARD, James E. “Jim” age 72 died on Friday April 17th, 2015 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Calusa, CA. to Benjamin and Lorraine Dillard, some of Jim’s fondest memories were of his childhood spent on the family farm in Williams, Ca. Jim enlisted in the US Air Force and was selected, “Distinguished Airman” and earned the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged in 1970. Jim graduated from USF and earned his dental degree from The Medical College of Virginia. After working for several years as a lab technician, he started his dental practice where he served the needs of the St. Petersburg community for over (32) years. Jim used the skills and expertise he perfected to become a well known and respected professional who provided his invaluable services to his many loyal patients. Beyond his technical proficiency, Jim will be fondly remembered for the extraordinary kindness and compassion he extended both professionally and personally, to all the lives he touched over his years with us. An inspiration to all who knew him, Jim enjoyed fishing, farming and loved traveling the world in retirement with his wife of 23 years. Jim is survived by his wife Elaine, daughters, Barbara (Guy), Elizabeth (Hector), step sons Scott and Dan (Suzan), brothers, David and Michael and sister, Barbara Cale. Jim also adored his (9) grandchildren, Autumn, Fulton, Emily, Eric, Kenny, Samuel, Cydney, Gabriella and Caleb. Donations to: Hospice Suncoast and/or Wounded Warrior Project.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25th at 11:00 AM – Mariner United Methodist Church off Cortez Blvd/SR 50 – 7079 Mariner Blvd. Spring Hill, FL.
