A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30am, Tuesday, January 22, 2025 at St. Anthony the Abbot Catholic Church, with Reverend Paul Pecchie officiating.
She was born in East Chicago, IN, on January 26, 1940. Judy graduated from Boca Ciega High School, St. Petersburg, FL. She was married for over 62 years to her life-long partner, friend, and love of her life, Larry Fannin, on August 11, 1960.
Judy had a secondary life-long love with horses and was an instructor, trainer, LAJUF Horse Show manager, and mentor in the equestrian world. In the United States Pony Club, she was influential in all aspects of the organization. She was a USPS National Examiner and in 2015 was awarded one of Pony Club’s most prestigious honors, THE FOUNDERS AWARD. In her younger days, she barrel-raced, and, to show a well-rounded competitive spirit, Judy also raced stock cars for her father’s business. But, one of her greatest joys, was to be out on their boat, Let It Ride, with her honey, Larry. Her passion for God and the Holy Spirit was her inspiration for ministering to everyone she met..
She will be missed by her children, Janet McCune, Michael Fannin, and Valerie McGraw; her siblings, David Mattull and Peggy Godby; her grandchildren, Katrina Fannin and Steven McCune; her great-grandchildren, Payton, Paisley, and Paxton Fannin and Brielle, Rosaleen, and Ethan McCune; and friends who are too numerous to name.
A Celebration of Life was held at the LAJUF show grounds at Fannin Hill Farm on Saturday, January 11, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, Judy would ask that you donate to the Merge Ministry, https://www.mergemin.com/donate
