Michael Anthony Monroe, 64, passed away on August 9, 2023 after battling many medical issues. Despite this battle, Michael continued to show courage in the face of life's challenges and always remained positive.
He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on March 21, 1959. Mike and his family moved to Spring Hill, Florida in 1987. He worked in the construction industry and showed his passion as the Salesman/VP of Coastal Craftsmen Aluminum for 20 years. He went on to own two businesses, Sunshine Screen Services and Michael Monroe, Inc. He worked side jobs to provide yearly trips for his family in the Silver Bullet to destinations such as Disney, Daytona, Chicago, and New Jersey.
Michael was coaching his boys in the Hernando Youth Soccer League when he met his loving wife, Carol, whose son was on the same team. They married on March 31, 1995 and blended their families. Later that year, baby girl was born and completed their family of eight.
He dedicated his time to coaching each of his children in various sports even though he may not have known the rules of the game at first. He thoroughly enjoyed coaching flag football, baseball, and basketball with the YMCA and moved on to coaching soccer with Hernando Youth Soccer League.
Mike's personality was contagious and he always had stories to share with family, friends, and business associates. He could never meet a stranger.
After a long day's work, he came home to a family dinner every night. He would then retire to the garage to enjoy his recliner with a cold beer and cigar while watching his favorite teams. (GO NOTRE DAME!) Mike was an avid lottery player and loved to remind his friends and family to play the Mega Million and pick up an extra scratch off or two.
