Richard was a proud Vietnam veteran who served his country with honor and distinction, and later enjoyed a well-earned retirement. He was deeply proud of his Italian heritage and lived life with passion, conviction, and heart.
Above all else, Richard loved his wife and his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry Giordano; his son, Louie Giordano; his brother, Dominic Giordano; his stepchildren, Jack Gardner, Tony Gardner, and Jennifer Leali; and many cherished grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sons, Christopher Giordano and Ricky Giordano, whom he carried in his heart always.
Richard enjoyed the thrill of riding his Harley, a good card game, and could often be found at the craps table, happily throwing dice. He was known for his stubborn streak, but those who knew him best loved him all the more for it. His strength, loyalty, and larger-than-life personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
A Celebration of Life honoring Richard will be held on Tuesday, February 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Bushnell National Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered in recognition of his faithful service to the United States.
Richard will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
