

Rosa Lee Clark, age 83, of Spring Hill, Florida died at her home on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, surrounded by family members and friends and cared for by the HPH Hospice Care team. Rosa was a resident of Spring Hill coming from Amityville, L.I.NY, on July 2, 2008. Rosa was born in Aiken, SC, on July 12, 1934, to the Late William & Rosa Lee (Mack) Sanders. Rosa Lee Clark has been a member of the Hollywood Baptist Church, 3504 Great Neck Road, Amityville, NY, 11701, for over 60 years. Over the years, she has belonged to the Gospel Chorus, the Usher Board, the Sunday School, the Missionary Society Ministry, the Sisterhood Ministry, and the Baptist Training Union. Her community affiliations have included the American Legion Hunter Square Jackson #1281 Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Telephone Pioneers of America, a non-profit organization. She has donated her time to soup kitchens and hospitals. Sister Clark retired from AT&T after 34 years where she was a Service Coordinator. As she resided in Florida she joined the Moose club and attended their Bingo nights of which she loved to play. Her Favorite Bible verse is in Psalms 23; “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” Her words of wisdom are: “You can do it! Nothing beats a failure but a try.” Rosa was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Herman R. Clark, in 2005, who she married in 1957, in Amityville, NY, and her sister, Mary Ann “Mae” Kama. Rosa is lovingly survived by her son, Eric Clark of Amityville, NY, daughter and son-in-law, Christina R. & Isaiah R Jackson, of Spring Hill, FL, and by her grandsons, Andre R Jackson, and Anthony L Jackson, both of Spring Hill, FL. A memorial service will be held on Sept 15th 6pm at Hollywood Baptist Church 3504 Great Neck Road Amityville, NY 11701. Rosa will then join her husband Herman at the Long Island National Cemetery 2040 Wellwood Ave Farmingdale, NY 11735.
