
Wilfred Luitweiler, age 81, Spring Hill, FL, passed away at Morton Plant Hospital on January 24, after a lengthy illness. He was born on December 10, 1944, in Rochester, NY to Marie (Dougherty) and David Luitweiler.
He was preceded by his wife, Patricia , and siblings Donald R Luitweiler of Rochester NY, and Patricia Frey of Spring Hill, FL. He is survived by his daughter Danielle Luitweiler Miller (Adam) of Clermont, FL; son Christopher Luitweiler (Kimberly)of Spring Hill, FL; brother David Luitweiler (Judy) of Victor, NY; nephew Kevin Luitweiler of Bloomfield, NY; niece Suzanne Luitweiler of Kokomo, IN; niece Erika Luitweiler Bergen of Rochester, NY; and nephew Jeff Luitweiler of Limestone, TN; . and several grandchildren.
Wilfred will also be missed by his good friends Jim Norris of Port St Lucie, FL and Jaqueline Pharel of Spring hill, FL.
Wilfred served in the United States Air Force from 1964-1968, attaining the rank of Sergeant. In 1971 he was sworn in as a police officer in the Rochester Police Department (NY) and served in that position until his retirement in 1990. Upon his retirement he moved to Spring Hill, FL.
He always maintained a strong interest in sports and was a die-hard follower of the Cleveland Browns as well as the Rochester Americans (AHL hockey) and the Tampa Bay professional teams.
Burial services will be private at the convenience of the family.
