
William Farber, known to all as Bill, of Suffern, New York died on January 29, 2019. A very proud World War Two Veteran of the Army Air Corps, Bill served as a navigator on a B-24 bomber. Bill was a salesman and later a broker of paper products up until his death. A graduate of City College of New York, Bill was active and a former Co-Commander of PFC Fred Hecht Post 425 of the Jewish War Veterans of America .
He was a tireless worker on behalf of veterans and helped in the successful effort to name the Jewish War Veterans highway. He was a frequent congregant of Congregation Shaarey Israel of Suffern, New York.
Bill is survived by his brother Howard Farber and sister in law June Farber as well as many nieces and nephews and special friend Claire Daskal. He was fortunate to have found special love with several Women of Valor as he was predeceased by first wife Florence (Schultz) and later by second wife Emily (Fixelle). Sisters Ruth Gittleman and Lillian Farber also predeceased Bill.
Funeral services will be held Thursday January 31, 2019, 11:00 AM at Congregation Shaarey Israel, 18 Montebello Road, Suffern, New York 10901. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery at Beth Israel Cemetery Woodbridge Township, New Jersey. Shiva arrangements will be announced on Thursday.
