Marcus Dale Mote was born on October 8, 1947 to Ross and Thelma Mote of Springboro, Ohio. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Mark passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on October 27, 2024 while his wife and children spoke words of love to him. He was greeted in Heaven by his beloved parents, his sister Mary Ann Bishop, his brother Mike Mote, and his cherished granddaughter Kate Elaine McDonald, along with many friends and relatives who went home before him.
Mark was a beacon of love and kindness in the lives of all who knew him. He is survived by his devoted wife Karen, children Kevin (Missy) Mote and Kody (Rich) McDonald, grandchildren Britta Mote, Marcus and Megan McDonald, and sister Marty (Bob) Chaney, who will forever remember his warmth, creativity, and the unwavering love he poured into their lives. His legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to call him family and friend.
Mark spent many years working at Lebanon Farm Implements, where he knew more about old tractors than anyone around, earning him the nickname “Tractor Doctor”. He opened his own tractor shop at his home, which he maintained until he retired in 2012. His home has since been a place for people to stop by for advice on tractor repairs.
A man of many talents, Mark found joy in a variety of hobbies. He had a passion for fishing from his boat, and riding his Harley for many years, both locally and cross country. His love for flying led him to spend countless hours either flying RC airplanes, or piloting his own Cessna 140 and Luscombe. His affinity for cool cars brought him to own many vehicles, from his 1959 Corvette to his most recent Mercedes convertible. One of his notable woodworking projects was an entirely handmade cradle created for his grandchild. He went on to utilize his impressive woodworking skills to build anything from elegant jewelry boxes to sturdy kitchen cabinets; leaving a legacy of handmade treasures for his family to cherish for many years to come.
The family will receive guests at Anderson Funeral Home, 40 North Main St. in Springboro, Ohio, on Friday, November 1st from 5:00-8:00 pm and Saturday, November 2nd beginning at 12:30 pm. On Saturday, funeral services will begin at 1:30 pm. Burial at Springboro Cemetery following the service.
