

Marvin Hal Henry, 78, of Carlisle, OH, died peacefully Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Hospice of Dayton. Hal was born in Baltimore, MD on December 17, 1941 to the late Clark Hall and Anna Mae (Bullen) Henry. Following high school, Hal proudly served in the United States Marine Corps before embarking on a successful, 35-year career in the paper industry, retiring in 2005 as the Mill Manager/Superintendent for Mead Paper Company in Chillicothe, OH. In his free time, Hal enjoyed walleye fishing on Michigan’s St. Clair River and playing golf. He was a talented gardener, planting and tending a garden every year, and dearly loved animals (especially dogs!). In addition to his parents, Hal was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Henry, and a brother, Ronald “Ronnie” Henry. He is survived by five children, Jeff (Jennifer) Hedges-Henry of Dayton, Christy Henry and Shane (Leslie) Henry of Springboro, Derrick Neikirk of Phoenix, AZ, and Preston (Jessica) Henry of West Carrollton; seven grandchildren, Jeff Henry, Jordan Mueller, Bethany (Payton) Davis, Addison Henry, Rebekah (Austin) Kelhoffer, Shelby Hedges, and Jillian Henry; and eight siblings, Colleen Holt, Maurice Henry, Zelda Vanover, Dennis Henry, David Henry, Darrell Henry, Polly Gwin and Sharon Goodwin. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 1pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd Street, Franklin, OH. Burial with full military honors will follow at Springboro Cemetery.
