My memories of Wesley, since I met him through work, was that he was fun to be around, dependable, and very likeable.  So likeable that I when his cars were stuck in the shop for repairs, I would take him on my way home (his house was on my way home so why not?) and have chats, man to man about things. 

I knew he was trying to get into the welding field for some time. When I heard he finally got his welding job, after all the schooling and certifications he got, we at the shop were all happy for him.  The world is going to need men with his skills going forward, since the trades are seemingly discouraged in our modern times.

Condolences to his entire family and all others who associated with him in one way or another, whether as friends, colleagues, Boy Scouts, whomever from where ever.

Dear Neumann family-we were so shocked and saddened to learn of Wesley's passing. He was a childhood friend of our son Ben and I always remember Wesley as being such a bright, funny, sweet youg man. May God give you peace and strength. Bless all of you!

Having been an Assistant Scout Master for Wesley's final years on his trail to becoming an Eagle Scout, I watched a relatively shy young man develop into a leader.  He had a dream of taking Troop 7 to D-Bar-A Scout Ranch near Flint Michigan.  A dream of going to the same summer camp as his father had when he was a boy.  Troop 7 had never in my time with them gone to an out-of-council summer camp until one year we couldn't.  While in that year we did not yet go to D-Bar-A, Wesley saw an opportunity to "sell" D-Bar-A once again to the  troop ... and in the following year we did.  His subtle leadership helped the entire troop grow to doing something new instead of the same old, same old.  He had a dream and while not pushy achieved it.

I also had the opportunity to share my skills with him as a part of his Eagle Scout Project.  These times are always tough for the scout.  They must lead but not do the project.  They must learn and teach others to do the project.  However, they do not have the wealth of knowledge and experience of an adult so they must humble themselves to learn so that they may in turn instruct and lead others to complete their project.  This is a joy for me that every Eagle Scout brings but one that is especially fond due to Wesley's humble demeanor.

To Eric and Theresa: I have no words, simply none, but know that my life was enriched by your son's and the friendship our families have shared.

I was the  Scout Master when Wesley joined Troop 7. He was always eager to learn,  easy to get along with,  and a friend to the other scouts.  He was a great example of the values scouting instilled in young men,  values that carry them through life. Although his death is a tragedy,  I pray that he is rejoicing with our lord and savior. 

I am pleased to say that I had the opportunity to participate in Wesley's entire Scouting experience, from Cubs Scouts all the way to his attaining the Eagle rank.   He always had a pleasant attitude, and was a dependable leader -- I knew I could count on him for anything he was asked to do.

I have so many fond memories of time spent together -- campouts, summer camps, and most of all, the 2 High Adventures we were able to share in.   He will definitely be missed.

Eric/Theresa/Neumann family -- i am so profoundly sorry for your loss.  You are in our prayers.       

I may have only known Wesley for a few years but I was lucky to have known him. At first when I met him he was a very quiet guy but as time went on and he loosened up he became like a part of the family. He was a quiet kind and caring guy who was funny and could make people smile with the very few words. He made a very deep impression upon the people who got to know him and  could bring people to tears with his goofy playfulness. You will be missed brother .

Thank you for choosing me as your BSA Eagle Coach, you showed me you could get it done.  That is huge in this chaotic world of ours.  Your life is a blessing, your memory a treasure, and that you have been and will be loved beyond words and time.  

Theresa/Eric,
It hurts when you have someone in your heart but cannot have them in your arms.  I will celebrate his memory during his Eagle Project and pray for your family.

I may not have known Wesley well during our shared time in the troop, but I looked up to him as not only a role model and an older scout, but as a teacher of a good attitude and of a good way to think about life. I will sorrowfully miss Wesley and I give my condolences to his family for their loss.

Eric and Theresa, I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. I wish that we could be closer, and could have had the chance to know Wesley better. I cannot imagine what you are going through, but I hope that the wonderful memories you have of him will keep you strong, along with your faith. Please know you all are in our thoughts and prayers now and in the weeks to come.

wesley was the sweetest kid.  He was smart, funny and kind.  He loved his cousins so much and they looked up to him and loved him.  My heart is breaking at the loss of my sweet nephew.   He will forever be loved and missed.
