

Agnes was born on April 4, 1926, in Oakford, the daughter of Paul E. Vogt, Sr. and Theresa F. (Duncheon) Vogt. She married Frank Moscardelli, Sr. on September 1, 1947, in Petersburg.
Agnes graduated from PORTA High School and worked for Pillsbury Mills as a secretary. In early 1949, she co-founded Pleasant Nursery, Inc. where she worked as a co-owner and bookkeeper. Agnes played for the Oakford Farmettes, a traveling semi-pro basketball team. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and for a time helped in the school cafeteria. Agnes enjoyed bowling, loved basketball, dancing, and playing the piano and organ. She played pinochle not only with her parents, but also enjoyed the game with her children. From her love of sports, Agnes became a dedicated fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bulls and the Fighting Illini. She enthusiastically attended many sporting events of not only her children but many of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter; Barbara Kaye Moscardelli; grandson, Justin Buscher; sister, Anne Kremitzki; and brother, Paul Vogt.
Agnes is survived by her husband, Frank of Springfield; children, Frank (Cheryl) Moscardelli, Jr., Sharon (Mike, deceased) Dillon, Dennis (Michelle) Moscardelli, Denise (John) Buscher, and Mark (Nonny) Moscardelli, all of Springfield; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene (Frank, deceased) Minder of Rochester; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with prayers at 5:00 p.m. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.
Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1345 N. 6th St., Springfield, IL, with The Very Rev. Daniel Bergbower, V.F. officiating. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
