

Alma Marie Squires, 81, of Springfield, died at 2:47 a.m. on Sunday, July 09, 2006 at Memorial Medical Center. She was born on September 18, 1924 in Riverton, the daughter of Joseph D. and Mary Alice Covell Mann. She married Coy E. Squires, Sr. on October 1, 1943 in St. Louis, MO; he preceded her in death on October 3, 1999. Alma was a member of Christian Assembly Church in Springfield and a former member of Body of Christ Church in Buffalo. She was a homemaker and served as a volunteer at church. She was a very loving, energetic and funny lady who enjoyed shopping, cleaning, word search games and collecting knick-knacks She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant son, great-granddaughter, Brittany Frantz and two sisters: Enid Winterbauer and Alice Mae Mann. She is survived by three sons: Ronnie (wife, Jane) Squires of Wasola, MO, Joe Squires and Coy (wife, Susan) Squires, Jr. both of Riverton; one daughter: Glenda (husband, Lonnie) Heffren of Charleston, IL; thirteen grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one brother: Bill (wife, Louise) Mann of Riverton; two sisters: Jean (husband, William) Oglesby of Williamsville, Joann Squires of Dawson and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Dennis and Pastor David Gessaman officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
