Amelia Rose Zimmerman

Millie was born on July 13, 1928, in Decatur, the daughter of Arthur LeRoy and Petranella Hemrich Fleckenstein. She married Albert E. Zimmerman, Jr. on May 1, 1954, in Decatur. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2018.

Millie was a 1946 graduate of St. Theresa High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for A-1 Lock prior to her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, puzzle books, and bowling.

She was also preceded in death by her sons, Michael and Steven; one sister, Mary Yakey; three brothers, Leonard, Paul and Herbert Fleckenstein; daughter in law, Sandy Zimmerman; and grandson, Christopher Zimmerman.

She is survived by her sons, James (wife, Rhonda) Zimmerman of Springfield and Kevin Zimmerman of Divernon; grandchildren, Michael (wife, Kerry) Zimmerman, Desiree (husband, Joe) Sayne, Steve (wife, Kyla) Zimmerman, Rhianne (Travis Krus) Zimmerman, and Emily Nance; three siblings, Tony (wife, Lois) Fleckenstein of Warsaw, IN, Sr. Mary Agnes Fleckenstein, OSF and Sr. Marcelita Fleckenstein, OSF both of Milwaukee, WI; 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr., Springfield. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Al Kemme, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
