Ann Havey

Ann Havey, 99, of Springfield, died on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. Ann was born January 4, 1916 in Springfield, the daughter of Peter and Mary Doyle Higgins. She married John Havey on May 6, 1944 in Orlando, FL. Ann was a graduate of St. Joseph's Grade School and Ursuline Academy. She was a member St. Agnes Catholic Church. Ann raised eight children and later was employed by the IL Department of Conservation. She enjoyed playing golf and spending time with her family. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brother, Frank Higgins; sister, Mary Higgins; and daughter-in-law, Geri Havey. She is survived by her eight children, Barbara (John) Megley of Memphis, TN, John (Ann) of Columbia, MO, David of Wichita, KS, Paul (Alice) of Springfield, Judith of Springfield, Peter (Suzanne) of Springfield, Michael (Colleen) of Seattle, WA, Timothy (Martha) of Springfield; one niece, Maureen Pearson; one nephew, Jack Higgins (Lynn); sixteen grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos, Springfield. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, with Rev. Robert J. Jallas, celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
