

She was born on March 10, 1919 in Split, Croatia, the daughter of Ante and Vinka Sorich Matosich. She married Raymond Hoffman on February 15, 1947 in Chicago.
Anna trained in Italy as a seamstress and opened up her own dress shop in Chicago upon her immigration to the United States. She not only was an excellent seamstress, she also created her own designs.
Anna later joined the Springfield community and was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Very involved and active in the community she held memberships with the Illinois Symphony Guild, St. Joseph’s Home Coterie, Lion’s Club Volunteer and the Altar and Rosary Society at Christ the King Catholic Church.
Anna had a variety of hobbies; among them were golf, bowling and bridge.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Frances Wyness and Lubica Ivanisevich.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Hoffman of Springfield; two sons: John (wife, Susie) Hoffman of Springfield and Ken (wife, Shelley) Hoffman of Chatham; two grandchildren: Zachary (wife, Hana) Hoffman of Chatham and Victor Hoffman of Springfield; two great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Alicia Hoffman of Chatham and two sisters: Sonya Lukic Plancicelva and Zora Bezic Vran of Split Croatia.
Family will welcome friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m., with Msgr. David S. Lantz officiating.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry, Springfield, with Msgr. David S. Lantz celebrant.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
