Armand Colin

Armand Colin, 98, died on July 28, 2016 at St John's Hospice in Springfield. He was born February 27, 1918 to Adolphine and Victor Colin in Smithmill, Pennsylvania. He married Tillie Kohlrus on June 21, 1947; she preceded him in death on April 1, 2002. Armand served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant Technician from April of 1941 until December of 1945 in England, France, Belgium and Germany. He worked at Pillsbury Mills for 33 years and was a member of St. Aloysius Church. He was preceded in death by brothers, Victor, Maurice, and George Colin; and sister, Augusta Kruger. Survivors include nieces, Yvonne Brandis, Kathleen Whittle, Vickey Osterholt, Vickie Marsee, Marianne Kohlrus Stremsterfer, Claire (Dan) Kohlrus Call; nephews, Anthony (Kathleen) Kohlrus, Kurt (Shellie Jacobs) Kohlrus, Karl (Christine) Kohlrus, Tom (Lori) Kohlrus, Chris (Betsy) Kohlrus; and several great- nieces and great-nephews. Visitation and Funeral Mass: Family will receive friends from 9:00 until 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2000 Sangamon Avenue, Springfield. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola, celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
