Audrey W. Colvin-Alton, 93, of Springfield, died at 4:25 a.m. Sunday, August 17, 2003 at St. John’s Hospice. Mrs. Alton was born September 2, 1909 in Springfield, the daughter of Oakland and Blanche Stickley Florville. She was a homemaker who enjoyed being a mother and grandmother, baking and cooking. Mrs. Alton was preceded in death by her parents; a sister: Rose Pollock; a brother: James Florville; and a great granddaughter: Hannah Rose Cockerill. She is survived by one son: Jesse (wife, Pat) Colvin of Braceville, IL; three daughters: Rose Carpenter, Sandra Smith and Connie Carpenter, all of Springfield; one sister: Evelyn Matney of Shawnee, Kansas; twelve grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 6-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2003. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2003 with Dr. Daniel Woodward officiating. Committal service at Oak Ridge Cemetery will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2003.
