She was born on March 14, 1937, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Charles and Catherine E. Shepard. Beverly married the love of her life, Glynn D. Crossin, in 1966 in Springfield. He preceded her in death, on June 8, 2000.
Beverly graduated from Feitshans High School with the class of 1955. She went on to work as an executive assistant at Allis Chambers. Beverly was a lifelong member of the Blessed Sacrament Church, attending daily, until she was unable to drive. In her spare time, Beverly enjoyed dining and shopping with her group of lady friends. She was lovingly devoted to her daughter, 2 granddaughters, and 3 great-grandchildren. The children were her whole world.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, James and Charles Shepard.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Patti A. (Chad) Roseboom of Springfield; grandchildren, Kate Ann (Josh) Blankenship of Springfield and Kristin A. (Christopher) Beyer of St. Louis, MO; three great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Eilers of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial: Family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut St., Springfield, followed by the Mass at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Grant, celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Springfield Park District Foundation to place a memorial bench at Washington Park in Springfield.
