Brandy Jo Gilbert

Brandy Jo (Knotts) Gilbert, 32, of Carrollton, died at 5:05 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013 at St. John's Hospital. Brandy was born June 8, 1980 in Jacksonville, the daughter of David Allen and Peggy Jo Gourley Knotts. Brandy was a 1998 graduate of Carrollton High School and attended cosmetology school. She worked as an assistant manager at Moto Mart where she had worked for several years. Brandy loved spending time with her children, fianc, family and friends, fishing and hunting, and sunflowers. Brandy's generosity has carried through in her organ donation that has forever changed the lives of numerous people. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Albert Harrison and Pauline Alice Gourley, and George Wayne and Ruth Eloise Knotts. She is survived by one son, Tyler Eugene Gilbert of Carrollton; one daughter, Alexis Jo Gilbert of Carrollton; children's father, Todd Gilbert of Carrollton; fianc, Garry Hillis of Carrollton; mother, Peggy (husband, Shane) Dierking of Carrollton; father, David (wife, Cheri) Knotts of Decatur; one grandmother, Adri (husband, Dick) Davidson of Carrollton; siblings, Joshua Allen Knotts of Orlando, FL, Stephanie Fellwock (fianc, Joshua Cutler) of Moweaqua, Kenneth (wife, Laura) Acree of Murrayville, Matthew David Knotts (fiance, Kati Batcho) of Decatur, Michael Jeffrey Dierking (companion, Jamie Lynn Vandygriff) of Jerseyville, and Chase Harrison Dierking (fiance, Kayli Anslyn) of Carrollton; aunt, Sally (husband, Don) Neumann of Springfield; aunt, Alice (husband, Harold) Christen; cousins, Teresa Hennings, Walter Hennings, Joseph Schofield, Alice (husband, James) Smother, and Jamie and Christopher Hayes; two nieces, two nephews, and one niece and one nephew on the way; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation: 2:00 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Carrollton United Methodist Church, 426 Maple St., Carrollton. Additional Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:30-11:15 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
