Brian Gaffney, 38, of Ramsey, passed away at 12:32 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2002 at St. Vincent Hospital in Taylorville. Brian was born September 30, 1963 the son of Patrick and Theresa Long Gaffney. Brian, a graduate of Ramsey High School was employed by Ironworkers Local Union #46. He also was a lifelong farmer in the Nokomis and Ramsey areas. He enjoyed outdoor activities and spending time with his son. He is survived by his parents: Patrick and Theresa Gaffney of Springfield; one son Mitchell Gaffney of Chatham; two brothers: Patrick Gaffney, Jr., of Nokomis and Michael Gaffney of Springfield; Fiancé: Glenda Campbell of Vandalia; several aunts and uncles; 6 nieces; several cousins; and many many friends. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 4-7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2002. There will be a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2002 at St. Agnes Catholic Church with Very Reverend Patrick Wright V.F. celebrant.
