Catherine Louise DeFreitas

She was born in Springfield, March 13, 1955 the daughter of Clyde and Ruth (Squires) Bunch. Catherine married Steve DeFreitas April 7, 1973 and he survives.

Also surviving are her parents, Clyde and Ruth Bunch, her children: Steven Jr., C.J. (Jessica), Jason (Ronda)DeFreitas, and April (Chad) Saner all of Springfield, her grandchildren: Jastine Delagado, Sarah, Ariel, and Abby DeFreitas, Chad Saner Jr, and Bella DeFreitas, all of Springfield, several great grandchildren, her sister, Anita (Dave) Garrett of Washington, her brother, Paul Bunch of Oklahoma, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her son, Scott.

Catherine retired in 1997 as a Certified Nursing Assistant serving within individual homes throughout the community. She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church. Catherine was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan, enjoyed NASCAR her favorite driver being Jimmy Johnson, loved to dance and was a member of the Aqua Sports Club. Above all, her family was most important to her.

Arrangements are in the care of Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen Springfield, IL where the family will greet friends Monday, June 20, 2022 from 9:00 am until the time of a funeral service at 11:00 am. Pastor Dave Gessaman will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
