Cecil L. Snow

Cecil L. Snow, 78, of Springfield, died at 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at St. John’s Hospice. Cecil was born on June 19, 1928 in Raymond, the son of Jesse D. and Cora Elizabeth Armour Snow. He married Devonna “Dee” Walton on August 20, 1950 in Niantic. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He was an active member of Crestview Christian Church in Decatur. He was a trained tool & dye maker and retired in 1987 as a Line Supervisor from Caterpiller Tractor Company. He not only worked for Caterpillar but also served as a mentor to his co-workers. He had previously been employed at General Electric. Cecil was an avid golfer. Cecil and Dee retired to Florida for fourteen years before returning to Springfield to be near family. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Virginia Rubin. He is survived by his wife of nearly fifty-seven years, Devonna “Dee” Snow of Springfield; one son, Rick (wife, Becky) Snow of Williamsville; one daughter, Nancy (husband, John) Hise of Belgium, WI; six grandchildren: Eric Hise, Rachel Hise, Andrew Hise, Jordan Snow, Lucas Snow and Audrey Snow; four great-grandchildren: Parker Carter, Erica Hise, Raven Bizardie and Gage Bizardie; one brother, Robert (wife, Marilyn) Snow of Bradenton, FL and one sister, Catherine Cordoba of Portland, OR; four brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law; many nieces; many nephews and a special cousin, Dorothy Haven. Cremation accorded by Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Memorial Gathering from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Memorial Ceremonies will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Marty Nagel officiating.
