He was born on May 20, 1942 in Kolkata, India, the son of the late Paresh Nath and Sadhana (nee Banerjee) Mukherjee. He married Shashwati Nandi on Dec. 2, 1971 in India.
Chanchal worked as an executive director for Canara Abrasives in Bangalore, India.
He is survived by his wife Shashwati Mukherjea; his daughter Debashree (husband Vickram Ramkumar) Mukherjea of Springfield; 3 grandchildren, Rohan, Isha, and Anish Ramkumar: and 3 brothers, Swapan, Bibekananda, and Aurobinda Mukherjee.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Chandan Kumar Mukherjee and a sister Jayanti Chakraborty.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. Private family services will be held.
