

She was born on October 31, 1928 in Brookfield, IL, the daughter of the late William F. and Charlotte C. (Schmidt) Koch.
Charlyne worked as a music teacher in the Springfield school system for many years and was the first female band director for District 186. She was also an avid golfer and bowler. She was of Lutheran faith and a longtime member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Springfield.
She is survived by 2 nieces, Wendy Mathistad and Whitney Koch, and 2 nephews, Warren Koch and Wayne Koch, other extended family and special friends David and Janet Leach of Chatham, IL.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother William and her loving companion of over 20 years, Melvin McCoy.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. A memorial service will be held at Concordia Village in Springfield on February 11, 2017 at 11 am.
