Christina Wools

She was born in Mattoon on October 22, 1974, the daughter of Thomas Owen and Diana Lou (Glasscock) Kuhl. Christina married Matthew Allan Wools in Mattoon on October 17, 1998.

Christina graduated from Mattoon High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in business from University of Illinois Springfield. She went on to work for AIG Life Insurance. She then moved on to HD Smith as a controlled substance coordinator and continued in that role after the company was acquired by AmerisourceBergen. Christina was proud to watch her sons graduate. She enjoyed attending their hockey games and show choir events, where she also helped with volunteering.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Christina is survived by her husband, Matthew; sons, Jacob and Jared Wools, both of Springfield; brother, John (Angie) Kuhl of South Carolina; stepmother, Jan Kuhl of Springfield; and nieces and nephew, Elise, Ian, and Celine Kuhl.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Butler Funeral Home- Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.

Graveside Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Calvary Cemetery in Mattoon, IL.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
