Connie L. Runkel, 57, of Springfield, died at 8:48 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at her residence. Connie was born April 29, 1954 in Springfield, the daughter of James B. and Jane L. Gill Cormeny. Connie was a graduate of Lanphier High School and worked as a Credit Manager for the State Journal Register. She enjoyed sewing, working with crafts, gardening, cooking, baking, and pottery. She is preceded in death by her parents; and step-son, Edward Runkel. She is survived by her son, Cory James (wife, Jennifer) Runkel of Springfield; one grandchild, Breklyn Runkel of Springfield; siblings, Janice (partner, Roger) Cormeny, James (wife, Trish) Cormeny, John (wife, Pam) Cormeny, and Tom (wife, Peggy) Cormeny; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the ceremony at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Rev.
