Damien A. Crews

Damien A. Crews, 35, of New Berlin, died at 11:05 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014. Damien was born on September 16, 1978 in Springfield, the son of Larry and Dottie Crews. He married Renee Seipel on June 30, 2001 in Chatham. Damien graduated from New Berlin High School and attended Lincoln Land Community College and Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. He was employed as an electrician with B & B Electric for 13 years. He was a member of Westside Christian Church and was a devoted family man. He loved all sports including golf and baseball, and coached baseball, basketball, and soccer. Damien was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls, and Illini fan. He is survived by his wife, Renee Crews of New Berlin; three sons, Brandt, Brady, and Braxton Crews of New Berlin; his parents, Larry and Dottie Crews; sister, Tammy (husband, Jeremy) Garner of New Berlin; mother and father-in-law, Mary and Greg Seipel; brothers-in-law, Mark and Scott Seipel; niece, Sierra; nephew, Weston; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Memorial Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Westside Christian Church, 2850 Cider Mill Ln., Springfield with Rev. Warren Brosi officiating.
