She was born in Springfield, November 19, 1945 the daughter of Len R. and Anne (Hammond) Clary. She graduated from Lincoln Christian College.
She married Clifford Dale Conaway, November 16, 1968 and they later divorced. She married Harlan Richard “Dick” Adkins in Springfield, October 9, 1999 and he preceded her in death January 6, 2008.
Darlene was a realtor alongside her husband Dick with Remax Professions. She retired in 2008. She was a talented musician and was well known for the piano. She performed with For One Ministry for several years.
Surviving are her three sons: Shawn Conaway, Christopher (Barb) Conaway and Carson Conaway, a step daughter, Tracey Adkins, two brothers, Galen (Edith) and Gordon (Colleen) Clary, a sister, Cheryl Boyer, five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Arrangements are in the care of Bisch Funeral Home West 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd. Springfield, IL where the family will greet family and friends on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 11:00 am until the time of services there at 12:00 noon. Pastor Ken Gennicks will officiate. Burial will follow in Old Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, IL.
