David Patrick Goetz

David Patrick Goetz, 61, of Springfield, died at 8:24 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at his home. David was born December 15, 1953 in Springfield, the son of Edward William and Evelyn Marguerite Corrigan Goetz. David was a 1971 graduate of Griffin High School, attended Marquette University and received his degree in Construction Management Technologies from Bradley University. He worked for Bradley Supply, Mathis Kelly, and for the last seventeen years, he was a project manager at R.D. Lawrence Construction Company. David was Exalted Ruler from 1983-1984 for the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 158. Most recently, he was the Elk's Past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler. He held many other state and district offices and was an honorary lifetime member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge 158. He was an avid boater and enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, and bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews, Shawn and Jason. He is survived by two daughters, Nicole (husband, Matt) Eisler of Chicago and Kayla Goetz of Arcata, CA and their mother, Lin Goetz; one grandchild, Breslin Eisler; six siblings, John Goetz of Petersburg, Mike (wife, Susan) Goetz, Tim (wife, Deb) Goetz, Mary Midiri, Greg Goetz, and Katie (husband, James) Ambrose, all of Springfield; one aunt; sixteen nieces and nephews; and Norma Jean Goetz. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a memorial service from the B.P.O.E. Lodge 158. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 245 N. Amos Ave., Springfield, with Rev. Robert J. Jallas celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
