David E. Loos, 75, of Loami, passed away on April 13, 2025 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 30, 1950 in Dubuque, Iowa to Ervin Loos and E. Alberta Schrader Loos. Dave married Lori Rhoda on February 7, 1987 and they celebrated thirty eight years of marriage.
Mr. Loos is survived by his wife Lori, two children: Dan (Brooklyn) Loos and Alison (Erik) Elliott, two grandsons: Cooper Loos and Camden Elliott, one brother Keith (Lisa) Loos , one sister Ellen Loos, one brother-in-law Doug Wessel and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Alice Wessel.
Dave received his Master Of Business Administration Degree from the University of Illinois and worked as the Director of Biofuels and Research for the Illinois Corn Growers Association after retiring from the State of Illinois. He loved his family, friends, his work and co-workers. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing and good conversation.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday April 22, 2025 at St. John’s Lutheran church in Chatham with burial to follow at Chatham Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4:00pm until 7:00pm Monday April 21, 2025 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road in Springfield. An additional visitation will be held from 10:00am until the time of funeral service Tuesday at St. John’s Lutheran, Chatham.
