

Deborah L. White-Weller, 48, of Chatham, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at St. John�s Hospice, with her family by her side. She was born September 20, 1966, in Roswell, NM, to Donald R. and Margaret �Maggie� Higgins White. She attended grade school in Carbondale and was a 1984 Murphysboro High School graduate before moving to Springfield. Debi married Joe Weller on May 16, 1985. She had the unique experience of living on the 3rd floor of the Jackson county courthouse as her dad served as sheriff (1974-1982). One year at the Murphysboro apple festival, she and her friends threw apples from the residence window, startling festival goers! An article in the Southern Illinoisan stated that the sheriff had no problem in locating the culprits! Debi (nicknamed by co-workers) �DWeller� was employed by Blue Cross/Blue Shield as loyal, dedicated and extremely efficient employee for 26 years. A dedicated sports fan, she loved the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers. Busch stadium was her favorite place to go. Debi lived a short but productive and enjoyable life. She was an inspiration and will forever be loved and missed. Debi is survived by her husband, Joe, of Chatham; daughter, Jessica (companion, James Winders) of Springfield; son, Daulton (Whitney) of Chatham; brother, Donald E. White of Springfield; parents of Springfield; in-laws, Ed and Cindy Hawn of Sherman. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Dillon and half brother, Jimmie C. Pope of Carlsbad, NM. Friends and family are invited to wear casual attire (no green or black, except for motorcycle attire) to her services. Her family will greet friends from 9am until the services at Noon, Saturday, November 8th, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham, IL 62629, with Pastor Todd Hawk (Debi�s cousin) officiating.
