Denis Patrick Beveridge

Denis Patrick Beveridge, of Springfield, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2002 at Memorial Medical Center. Denis was born October 3, 1949 the son of Joseph and Loretta Freymuth Beveridge in Springfield. Mr. Beveridge was a Professor of Mathematics and a recipient of the Master Teacher Award at Lincoln Land Community College where he taught for 25 years. He was active in youth sports and coaching for many years. He was also a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Arlene; four sons: Patrick Beveridge of Springfield, Ryan Beveridge of Springfield, Colin Beveridge of Springfield, Noah Beveridge of Springfield; two daughters: Maureen Beveridge of Springfield, Elizabeth Beveridge of San Clemente, CA; five brothers: David (wife, Sheila) Beveridge of Mt. Vernon, IL, Joe (wife, Mary) Beveridge of Mt. Vernon, IL, Mark (wife, Frances) Beveridge of Barnhart, MO, Reverend John Beveridge of Collinsville, IL, and Michael Beveridge of Springfield; two sisters: Geralyn Beveridge of Springfield, Agnes (husband, Chuck) Budinger of Springfield, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Christ the King Catholic Church from 5-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2002 with a wake service at 5:00 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2002 at Christ the King Church with Reverend John Beveridge and Reverend David S. Lantz celebrants. Private burial will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Beveridge Family Medical Fund to defray medical costs.
