

Donald E. “Tiny” England, 73, of Springfield, died at 7:55 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2007 at St. John’s Hospital. Tiny was born on May 30, 1933 in Lincoln, the son of Wayne Short and Margaret A. Simpson England. He married Barbara L. Lanham on September 28, 1957 at Oak Park, IL. He attended Harvard Park Elementary School and was a graduate of Feitshans High School. He was employed at Thomas Auto Supply, Harwood Auto Supply, and Caves Auto Supply. He then worked for CWLP in the maintenance garage as parts manager from 1976 until his retirement in 1996. Tiny was a member of Eagles Aerie 437, Charlies’s /Sammy’s Golf League and International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Union Local #1815. He was sweet, loving and a great dad who enjoyed golfing, especially with his friends at Bunn Park. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Thomas W. and Robert P. England and two sisters: Mary Joyce Doerfler and Nancy Kunshek. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Barbara L. England; one son, Lindsay P. England of Springfield; two granddaughters: Larresa (husband, Brian) Kleinertz of Springfield and Jessica L. England of Edwardsville; one brother, Harold “Kookie” England of Springfield; daughter-in-law, Lisa A. England of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. The family welcomes friends to visit from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Ceremonies will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Haag officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Clear Lake Township, Sangamon County, Illinois.
