Donald Parker McMullen, 73, of Springfield, died at 10:18 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2003 at Memorial Medical Center. Donald was born February 12, 1930 in Springfield the son of Howard and Maud Ratlief McMullen. He married Mary Jane Seessengood, May 27, 1951 in Olney, IL. Mr. McMullen was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a Tour Superintendent; he retired after 35 years of service. He was also a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Mary Jane of Springfield; two sons: Keith (wife, Marlene) McMullen of Ventura, CA, David (wife, Tammy) McMullen of Poulsbo, WA; four grandchildren; one sister: Sue Roberson of Danville, CA; one brother: Bill (wife, Gerry) of North Carolina and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be held at West Side Christian Church at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2004 with Vaughn Beeman and Charlie Lee officiating. Burial will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to West Side Christian Church, 2850 Cider Mill Ln. Springfield, IL 62702.
