

Ms. Andrews was born on December 27, 1919 in Springfield, IL to William and Mildred Crookston. She attended the Bettie Stewart Institute and Springfield High School. After moving to work in California in the late 1940s, she married Sherold A. (“Andy”) Andrews; where they worked for the Naval Weapons Center in China Lake. They resided in California until Andy’s death in 1970, after which Dorothy returned to Springfield. In 2014 she moved to Fayetteville to live with her sister, Winifred.
She is survived by nieces Janet Jagitsch and Diana Jagitsch, of Springdale and Fayetteville, AR; nephews William Jagitsch and Robert F. Jagitsch, III, of North Little Rock, AR and Austin, Texas, and nephew James E. Crookston, Jr., of Lexington Kentucky. She was also survived by her brother, James E. Crookston, of Maumelle, AR. who passed away on September 6, 2015.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Sherald A. Andrews, of China Lake, CA; niece Catherine Crookston, of Maumelle, Arkansas, and her sister, Winifred Jagitsch, of Springdale, AR.
Dorothy's nieces and nephews remember her as a kind, funny and cheerful aunt who enjoyed needlework and spending time with her many friends.
Dorothy’s family will greet friends at a memorial gathering at the Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen, Springfield, IL from2-3 pm on Saturday, October 10, 2015
A private inurnment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, IL.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Wounded Warrior Project.
The family would like to thank Belinda Galloway for her care and dedication to their “Aunt Dot”, and very special thanks to Ruth Koehler and Geno Koehler.
