

Dorothy E. Clem, 95, of Springfield, died at 10:03 a.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Mill Creek Alzheimer's Special Care Center. Dorothy was born October 4, 1922 in Nashville, Illinois, the daughter of Leslie and Freida (Oelze) Paul. She married Joe Sharpe in 1956; he preceded her in death in 1980. She later married Robert G. Clem in 1990; he preceded her in death in 2014. Dorothy attended schools in Nashville and was active in church, school, and community activities. She worked for her father's plumbing business, L.H. Paul Plumbing & Heating in Nashville and Carbondale, and was very active with the Egyptian Plumbing, Heating, Cooling Contractors Association and their Auxiliary. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; son, Terry Bowles; and sister, Clara Ruth Novick. She is survived by her daughter, Mimi Williams of Los Angeles, CA; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Rosemary Wilkas of Springfield. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:45 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Celebrant Judy Woerner officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
