

Earl Louis Durheim, Sr., 68, of Springfield died at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at Memorial Medical Center. Earl was born March 25, 1937 in El Paso, IL the son of Louis A. and Willelmine Marie Bernahl Durheim. He married Dorothy Seiz-Voges on April 12, 1979 in Springfield, IL. Mr. Durheim loved being a bus driver for Laidlaw and previously worked for School District #186 and the Keebler Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. Earl loved sports and enjoyed fishing and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Chicago Bulls basketball with his dog Sugar. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by wife: Dorothy Durheim; three sons: David Durheim, Earl (wife, Mollie) Durheim, Jr. and Eric Seiz all of Springfield; four daughters: Debbie Durheim of Springfield, Karen (husband, Marty) Durheim-Sommerfeld of Springfield, Denise (husband, Bill) Downey of Lisle, IL and Anna (husband, Marco) Moreno of Fenton, MO; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and several cousins. Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2005 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery where the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors.
