

E.B. "Al" Williams, 79, of Pleasant Plains, died at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at his home. Al was born August 29, 1933 in Westmont, IL, the son of Benjamin and Lucille Poss Williams. He married Barbara Kennedy on November 3, 1956. They had three children who survive, Roxanne (husband, Scott) Morey of Pleasant Plains, Alan Williams of Rushville, and Susanne (husband, Ed) Hendricks of Mt. Sterling. He later married Donna Bogenschutz Kuhl on August 28, 1982 in Downers Grove, who survives him. He is also survived by two stepsons, Tom Kuhl of Colorado and Randy Kuhl of Petersburg; fifteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother; one sister; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Al was the owner and a barber at The Avenue Barber Shop and was a carpenter and builder. Al was a member of Cool Cruisers Car Club and enjoyed restoring antique cars, fishing, playing with his beloved dogs, Maggie and Bruce, vegetable gardening, and cooking. He was a very caring man who would do anything for anyone and will be missed by many. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Hector officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
