

Eleanor A. Adams, 94, of Palmyra, passed away on Tuesday April 11, 2017 at her residence. She was born on July 20, 1922 in Summit, Illinois to August and Agnes Breyer Heabel. Eleanor married Charles M. “Tom” Adams on July 19, 1941 and he preceded her in death on March 28, 2007.
Mrs. Adams is also survived by her children: Charlotte (Harold) Sanderfield of Palmyra, Kathy (Richard) Milligan of Palmyra, Robert (Linda) Adams of Modesto, Charles E. (Marjorie) Adams of Springfield, Lisa (James Jackson) Rhodes of Palmyra and Dorothy Adams of Springfield, seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death her daughter Sandy Lewis, grandson David Sanderfield, and eight brothers and sisters.
Eleanor actively donated to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Arbor Day Foundation and to St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, Montana. She liked to crochet and embroider and she loved her rescue dog Bandit who was her “little guardian.”
The family will meet friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Friday April 14, 2017 at Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 Koke Mill Road. Cremation rites will accorded and a graveside service will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery at 11:00am on Wednesday April 19, 2017.
