Elizabeth Joanne Hasara

Betty was born on November 2, 1946, to Joseph Hasara and Rose (Kukarola) Hasara in Sparta, IL. Betty attended Sacred Heart Academy and continued her education at Sangamon State University earning her bachelor’s in business. She worked as an adjudicator for the State of Illinois for 25 years. After retirement she volunteered at St. Johns Hospital and Meals on Wheels. She was a life-long member of Little Flower Parish. Betty was an avid collector of quilts but her favorite thing in life was animals. She rescued many dogs over the years giving them a loving home with her.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Kay Hasara. She is survived by her sister Mary Lou (Bill) Ryan of Peoria, IL; brother Ron Hasara of Springfield, IL; nephews Jason (Jennifer) Ryan of Greenville, NC; Brent Ryan of Peoria, IL and Rhett Hasara of Springfield, IL; niece Leeanne Hasara of Rochester, IL; bonus niece Anndrea Cooke of Rochester, IL; great nieces and great nephews; and her beloved dogs Baxter and Bella.

A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
