Elsie M. Jacobs

Elsie M. Jacobs, 88, of Loami, died at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at St. John’s Hospital, Hospice Unit. She was born on September 3, 1918 in Williamsville, the daughter of Alfred and Ella Noonan Budd. She married John F. Jacobs on September 4, 1943; he preceded her in death on May 29, 1994. Elsie was a Registered Nurse at St. John’s Hospital for many years. She served on the Sangamon County Farm Bureau and was the Volunteer Supervisor for the handicap department at the Sangamon County Fair. She was also a member of the Rural Neighbors Club now known as Neighbors Together Again. Elsie enjoyed sewing and vegetable gardening. She was also preceded in death by her parents: three sisters: Ellen Budd, Betty Spengler and Alberta Budd and one brother: Alfred Budd. She is survived by one son: Carroll “Lee” Jacobs of Loami; one sister: Helen (husband, Dwight) Emerson of New Berlin and several nieces and nephews. The family welcomes friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. A Funeral Ceremony will immediately follow the visitation at 11:30 a.m. with, Pastor Bob Ervin officiating. Burial will follow at Waverly East Cemetery in Waverly.
