

Ethel L. Weinkauf, 46, of Springfield, died at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2006 at St. John’s Hospital. Ethel was born on May 7, 1959 in Springfield, the daughter of David Sr. and Zora Phillips Myers. She married Franklin Weinkauf on November 5, 1996 in Nevada. She was employed as a public service administrator by the State of Illinois Department on Aging for the last three years and the State of Illinois for over twenty years. She was a member of Elk's Lodge 158 and an active member of WINGS and cancer support groups. She was preceded in death by her mother: Zora Myers. She is survived by her husband, Franklin Weinkauf of Springfield; one daughter: Michelle (husband, Josh) Edwards of Springfield; one stepson: Loring (companion, Nickie Dunn) Weinkauf of St. Louis, Mo; one stepdaughter: Laurel Weinkauf of Minneapolis, MN; one grandson: Noah Edwards, father, David Myers, Sr. of Springfield, one brother: David Myers, Jr. of Springfield; two sisters: Ruth Ann (husband, Harold) Ellis of Divernon and Peggy (husband, John) Nance of Springfield, several aunts and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
